Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills’ divorce has been finalised at the High Court today.
A judge pronounced a decree nisi on the grounds that they have been separated for 2 years.
Neither Sir Paul, 65, nor Heather, 40, appeared in court.
The marriage will formally end in 6 weeks with a decree absolute. This means Heather will be able to receive the £24.3 million divorce settlement she was awarded in March.
The couple married in 2002 and have daughter, Beatrice, 4.
Macca will celebrate the divorce by taking new love Nancy Shevell, 47, on a visit to his hometown of Liverpool when he performs there next month.
‘Paul has tried to keep his relationship with Nancy low-key during his divorce battle for fear of antagonising his estranged wife,’ a source tells the Daily Star.
‘He regards Nancy as his girlfriend and is keen to see more of her now the divorce is through. The fact he’s invited her to see him in Liverpool is a sign of just how strongly he feels about her.’
