Prince William's girlfriend concerned she'll steal the limelight

Kate Middleton is said to be so worried shell take the spotlight off the bride at Peter Phillips wedding, that shes decided not to attend.
Prince Williams cousin Peter, 30, marries Canadian fiancée Autumn Kelly, 30, on Saturday at Windsor.
But their decision to sign a £500,000 magazine deal has caused some discomfort within the Royal family.
William and Kate had provisionally agreed to go. But it became obvious there was a danger of it turning into a disaster, a senior aide tells The People.
Kate was very concerned about how it would seem if attention was focused on her. And when William heard about the mag deal, his mind was made up.
It's thought The Queen supports Wills, 25, and 26-year-old Kate's decision to keep their distance.

It seems that Kate is going to the wedding and William will be away at another wedding. That of a close friend. Why do so many people have harsh things to say about Kate. She is in a no win situation with the general public.
Sorry, Debra and Lorraine, but the practical reality is that the press WOULD be more interested in the girlfriend of the future king than in the bride of an untitled member of the extended royal family. Moreover, if the "Hello" deal includes coverage of the wedding, then Prince William and Middleton are wise not to attend. By the way, why are you blaming this decision on Middleton alone? I find it quite odd that she's so often treated as some publicity-hungry manipulator, but no one ever considers William's role in this relationship. Or do you think he's merely feeble-minded and somehow at the mercy of the evil, Machiavellian Middleton?
By not going to the wedding, Miss Middleton is ensuring that the media attention is focused on herself. Yes we will hear about the wedding, but it may be overshadowed by the fact that Kate was not there and why. So how then has the focus been taken of herself?
How self-centered Katie is to think that everyone would want to see her in lieu of Peter's bride.
