Biography
Blonde bombshell Cameron Diaz is best known for her roles in Hollywood blockbusters There’s Something About Mary and Charlie’s Angels – as well as high-profile beaus including Justin Timberlake.
Born in San Diego, California, Cameron started out as a fashion model, working for designers such as Calvin Klein and Levi’s and gracing the cover of Seventeen magazine.
Despite having no previous acting experience, she won the part as the female lead in Jim Carrey’s 1994 comedy, The Mask. After several roles in independent films, she achieved further mainstream success, starring opposite Julia Roberts in My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), the gross-out hit, There’s Something About Mary (1998), for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Golden Globe. Cameron teamed up with Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore for Charlie’s Angels and the trio all returned for Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle in 2003 – a sequel that netted Cameron a cool $20 million.
After relationships with actors Matt Dillon and Jared Leto, Cameron hooked up with music megastar Justin Timberlake – eight years her junior – in 2003. The pair split in 2007 but reunited to promote Shrek The Third, in which they both starred. She has since been linked with singer John Mayer and magician Criss Angel.
Despite her screen success, Cameron suffered a personal trauma in 2008 while promoting rom-com What Happens In Vegas… – her father, Emilio, died suddenly from pneumonia, aged just 58.
