Biography

Award-winning actress and model Eva Longoria is best known for her role as sultry siren Gabrielle Solis in hit TV show Desperate Housewives.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Eva had a modest upbringing on her Mexican-American parents’ farm but flocked to LA after winning her hometown’s beauty pageant.

In 2000 she landed her first television role, guest-starring in Beverly Hills, 90210, and then, in the same year, got her big break as Isabella on soap opera The Young And The Restless. But it was her part as Gabrielle on the multiple Emmy Award-winning Desperate Housewives that made Eva a household name, as well as clinching her a People’s Choice Award and a Golden Globe nomination.

The show’s success led to several high-profile advertising campaigns for Eva, including L’Oréal and Magnum ice cream.

Eva became the first woman to top Maxim’s Hottest Female Stars list in consecutive years in 2005 and 2006, but she was off the market a year later when she married basketball star Tony Parker in Paris.

Having won her first major movie role opposite Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland in 2006 thriller The Sentinel, Eva is reportedly keen to develop her film career.
