Geri Halliwell: Jamie Theakston didn't want to go out with me

Ginger Spice told she was ‘too short’

Jamie decided to dress down as he leaves Claridges Hotel in London.

Geri Halliwell once asked Jamie Theakston for a date but he turned her down.

The Spice Girl says he told her she was ‘too short’ for him when they met on children’s TV show Live & Kicking.

Geri is 5ft 2in while Jamie, 37, is 6ft 4in.

‘I asked him out and he sort of said no,’ she revealed on Jamie’s Heart FM radio show.

‘I tried to charm him and it didn’t work. He said: “I don’t like short girls”.’

Geri, 35, is now dating dancer Ivan ‘Flipz’ Velez, 29.

The pair, who worked together on the Spice Girls tour, went public with their relationship when they attended the American Idol Gives Back charity bash last month.
