Albert Square's Ricky and Bianca forget their VIP passes
Tuesday, 22 April 2008
EastEnders' Sid Owen and Patsy Palmer were almost refused entry to the Bafta Television Awards after-party on Sunday night.
The pair, who play Ricky Butcher and Bianca Jackson in the BBC soap, has forgotten their VIP passes and security guards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel failed to recognise them.
Patsy, 35, is said to have kicked up a fuss at the snub.
'It was just like a scene in EastEnders,' a source tells the Daily Mirror. 'In true Bianca style Patsy's voice was getting louder and louder. And quite rightly so. The bouncer was being ridiculously strict about it.'
But the chief security guard soon realised the mistake and Sid, 36, and Patsy were eventually ushered in.
And Sid and Patsy weren't the only residents of Albert Square to have a bad night. Barbara Windsor, who plays Peggy Mitchell, wasn't even invited to the awards despite the show being up for Best Continuing Drama gong.
'The BBC had a restricted number of tickets,' a spokesperson tells The Sun.
