Britney Spears may not return on How I Met Your Mother

Singer not confirmed for second appearance

Despite rumours claiming she's set to reprise her role in US sitcom How I Met Your Mother, sources have revealed that Britney Spears is yet to sign up for a second appearance.

The singer made a cameo appearance on the hit US show last month and won rave reviews from critics and fans.

But insiders say that, although an offer is on the table, nothing is confirmed.

'No script has been written and, until that is done, Britney will not be making a commitment,' a source tells Us Weekly.

'The offer is there but no decisions have been made at the moment.'

Britney, 26, played Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist's office who falls for one of the show's main characters.
