Tight security in place for Harry Potter star's Broadway debut
Monday, 21 April 2008
Theatre-goers will be banned from taking snaps of Daniel Radcliffe when he reprises his role in play Equus later this year.
The Harry Potter star will once again strip naked in his role as a stablehand when he takes the critically acclaimed production to Broadway in New York.
And bosses are stepping up security to ensure that fans are unable to take photos of the actor in the buff.
‘When the show opened in the UK, some overenthusiastic female fans sneaked cameras in to flash Daniel when he strips naked on stage,’ a source tells the Daily Star.
‘They all wanted pictures to circulate to friends and over the net. But cameras are banned in theatres and photo flashes put the performers off, so we are bringing in tighter security.’
Meanwhile, Daniel, 18, is said to be sad to be working on the final 2 installments of the Harry Potter films.
‘It’ll be quite sad and interesting to say goodbye to people who have become my best friends,’ he tells the Daily Record. ‘But the exciting part is now I’ll be out in the world, doing different things.’
