Actress Emma Barton 'looking forward to going back to musical theatre'
Saturday, 19 April 2008
EastEnders' Honey Mitchell is leaving the hit BBC soap in the summer.
Actress Emma Barton, 32, joined the Albert Square cast in November 2005.
'Emma's a lovely actress, but we've just come to the end of her storyline,' says a source. 'Honey will go this summer.'
On-screen husband Billy, played by Perry Fenwick, 46, will stay.
And after being told the BBC's plans yesterday, Emma has decided to return to her roots.
'I'm looking forward to going back to musical theatre,' she tells The Sun.
