'It was time for me to go,' says the TV engineer
Thursday, 17 April 2008
Simon Smith was given the boot by Sir Alan Sugar last night in the fourth episode of The Apprentice.
The satellite television engineer took the blame for failing to win the photography task at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.
His attempts to manage the group were criticised by teammates Alex Wotherspoon and Claire Young, who described him as 'a missile that was about to self-combust'.
All three were brought back to the boardroom to face Sir Alan, 61.
After a heated debate which saw Sir Alan tell Claire, 28, to get out - Simon, 35, was fired.
'Sir Alan was right to fire me,' he said. 'It was the right time for me to go.'
