Coleen McLoughlin: Wayne Rooney made sure my birthday was special

Coleen McLoughlin may have had a quiet birthday this year – but she says fiancé Wayne Rooney made sure it was special.

‘I had a lovely birthday,’ she says. ‘The night before Wayne took me out for dinner to an Italian restaurant, and I spent the next day at my mum’s.

‘Wayne gave me lots of lovely surprises [and] my mum got in a big cake and balloons.’

Coleen and Wayne, both 22, have been dating since they were 17. They plan to marry this summer.
