Cynthia Nixon has revealed she has breast cancer.
The Sex And The City star was diagnosed with the disease 18 months ago during a routine mammogram.
But Cynthia, who played Miranda Hobbes in the hit US show, has only just broken her silence after undergoing surgery on Sunday.
'I felt scared,' she told a US talkshow. 'That's just how I am. I realised it had been found so early they could get right on it.'
And Cynthia, 42, explained that her lover Christine Marinoni has been finding it difficult to cope.
'My girlfriend was the one doing the eating,' she added, reports the Daily Mirror. 'She was in a panic - and just trying to calm herself down any way she could.'
Sex And The City: The Movie is released in May.
