On the heels of her five Grammy wins in February, Amy Winehouse is in the running for more prestigious music prizes. On Monday, she received three Ivor Novello Award nominations, which recognise the best British songwriting and composing talent.
Winehouse, who has won two Ivor Novellos in the past, says she is looking forward to making a new album following a year plagued by substance-abuse battles and the incarceration of her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.
"Winning Ivors for my songwriting have been some of the best moments in my music career," says Winehouse, 24. "I'm overwhelmed to be nominated three times, let alone twice in the same category. It's come at a great time too. I'm excited to be back at work in the studio, enjoying songwriting and making music again."
Winehouse has two entries in the in the best song musically and lyrically category with her hits "Love Is A Losing Game" and "You Know I'm No Good." Her "Rehab" anthem goes up against Beyoncé Knowles and Shakira's "Beautiful Liar" and Mika's "Grace Kelly" in the category for best-selling British song.
The 53rd Ivor Novello Awards will be presented in London on May 22.
