Biography
Regularly dubbed ‘Sexiest Man Alive’, actor, film producer and social activist Brad Pitt is one half of Hollywood’s golden couple with partner Angelina Jolie.
Born into a strict Baptist family, Brad grew up in Springfield, Missouri. He moved to California in the mid-1980s in search of stardom, but his road to the acting A-list was littered with odd jobs – including dressing up as a chicken to advertise a restaurant chain.
He scooped a plum guest-starring role on popular soap Dallas in 1987 and it wasn’t long before film bigwigs cottoned on to his growing heart-throb status, casting him in hits such as Thelma & Louise and A River Runs Through It.
Following grittier roles in Kalifornia and Se7en and relationships with respective co-stars Juliette Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow, Brad was Oscar-nominated for sci-fi thriller Twelve Monkeys and landed a reported $17.5 million deal to star in Meet Joe Black.
In 1998 he admitted he was dating Friends star Jennifer Aniston and the pair tied the knot two years later. But while Brad was raising pulses in 2003 film Troy, rumours of a split circulated and the couple separated in 2005 – reportedly fuelled by Brad’s off-screen chemistry with Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith.
Following his divorce in October 2005 Brad began dating Angelina. In December of that year they announced they were a couple and Brad became the legal father of Angelina’s adopted children, Maddox, Zahara and Pax, soon after the pair welcomed their first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, in 2006.
On 12 July 2008, Angelina gave birth to twins Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne
Marcheline Jolie-Pitt in France.
