John Barrowman: Billie Piper is a great kisser

Gay actor admits to enjoying on-screen clinch

John Barrowman shared on-screen kisses with both Billie Piper and Christopher Ecclestone in Doctor Who.

But the gay actor actually enjoyed the smooch with Billie the most.

'Billie is the better kisser because she's got those lovely big luscious lips,' he admits. 'And Chris's lips are a little thinner.'

John, 41, says he realised he preferred guys to girls when he was just 9 years old.

He's been living with architect partner Scott Gill for 15 years but did date females in the past.

'Growing up, I didn't lie about my sexuality, but I did pretend,' he tells The Daily Mail. 'I had a girlfriend at college - you don't know if you don't like it until you try it.'

The I'd Do Anything judge still appreciates good-looking women but never tries to get any into bed.

'I don't have a desire to do so,' he says 'but that doesn't mean I don't find women sexy.'
