Mischa Barton put on 3 years' probation for drink driving

Actress escapes jail and is not charged with marijuana possession

Mischa Barton has been put on 3 years' probation after being charged with drink driving.

She has been ordered to attend a 3-month alcohol education programme and has been fined £837.

As part of a plea deal, marijuana possession charges were dropped.

‘She understands the gravity of this whole thing and that she made a mistake,’ lawyer Anthony Salerno tells Us Weekly.

‘But I'm sure she's glad that it is resolved, and she obviously has some work to do.’

Mischa, 22, was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and driving without a licence in February after being arrested in West Hollywood last December.

She did not attend the hearing.
