Jessica Simpson's close shave

Star lathers up for men's mag shoot

Jessica Simpson has become the latest star to recreate a famous photo shoot from the 1960s. She appears on the cover of Esquire's May issue, striking a similar pose to Italian actress Verna Lisi's famous March 1965 cover photo of the iconic blonde caught mid-shave. The pictorial inside the magazine's 75th anniversary issue shows a swimsuit-clad Simpson under a shower of water.

Simpson is not the first to recreate a famous photo. In February, Lindsay Lohan stripped down for an updated version of Marilyn Monroe's legendary 1962 shoot, for New York magazine.

According to a source, Simpson arrived at the Esquire shoot with her dog, Daisy. "She was a sport," says the source. "She was pretty much wet the whole time."
