Gemma Atkinson and Dannii Minogue to walk Great Wall of China

Pair taking part in charity hike

Gemma Atkinson and Dannii Minogue are to walk the length of the Great Wall of China for breast cancer charities.

The pair will be joined on the 142-mile trek along the historical landmark by Sir Cliff Richard, 67, Strictly Come Dancing star Anton du Beke, 41, and singer Toyah Willcox, 49.

The walkathon has been organised by Olivia Newton-John, 59, who has suffered the disease.

Dannii, 36, whose sister Kylie, 39, battled breast cancer, will start her 30-mile leg of the hike on Sunday.

'I joined the walk as a personal journey to try to understand why cancer is affecting so many people, to raise money to help find a cure, to celebrate the lives of friends and family who have been saved and to reflect on those I have lost,' she tells the Daily Star.

Gemma will start her 42-mile leg on 19 April.

'Being a female, I'm very aware of how common breast cancer is and I want to do my part to help,' she says.
