Talkshow host faces chemo after finding lump
Monday, 7 April 2008
Trisha Goddard has been diagnosed with breast cancer, her agent has confirmed.
Doctors are said to have found a lump during a routine mammogram 3 weeks ago.
On Saturday she was told that the disease appeared to have spread.
Trisha’s husband Peter Gianfrancesco confirmed the diagnosis and said the news had left the family ‘stressed and exhausted’.
The talkshow host, 50, who is expected to take time off her Channel 5 show, will undergo an operation to remove lymph nodes and several sessions of chemotherapy.
'Trisha is a much-valued member of the Five family and we wish her all the very best for a speedy recovery,' Jane Lighting, Five’s Chief Executive, tells Now Online.
