Madonna given go-ahead for adoption of David Banda

Officials advise High Court to formalise proceedings

Madonna and David Banda

Madonna has been approved as a suitable mum for Malawi-born toddler David Banda.

The singer has been looking after the 2-year-old for 18 months and officials have recommended that the High Court formalise the adoption when she visits the country next week.

Care workers described David as 'lively, happy and thriving' in a 'warm and loving' relationship with the singer and her husband Guy Ritchie, 39, reports the Daily Mirror.

Madonna, 49, is expected to appear in court at the end of this month.

She already has daughter Lourdes, 11, from a previous relationship and son Rocco, 7, with Guy.
