Corinne Bailey Rae attends husband’s funeral

Singer pays her respects to Jason Rae

Corinne Bailey Rae laid her husband to rest yesterday.

Jason Rae’s funeral service took place at St George's Church in her hometown of Leeds.

The saxophonist, 31, was found dead from a suspected drugs overdose at a friend's flat in the city last month.

Close friend Mark Ronson, 32, was among the 150 mourners.

Following the service, Corinne, 29, stayed behind to say an emotional private farewell to Jason.

She emerged 30 minutes later looking emotionally drained.

‘She looked utterly forlorn – like part of the life had been sucked out of her,’ an onlooker tells the Daily Star. ‘To see her walk out on her own like that after her friends and family had gone was quite moving. She must be hurting so bad.’

Corinne then joined family and friends for the wake at the Wardrobe Bar in Leeds. The venue was where the couple held their wedding reception in 2001.
