Ashley Cole wants to take wife Cheryl on luxury holiday in the sun.
The soccer star thinks the break will help them get close again.
'Ashley booked a romantic break to Mauritius as a surprise for when Cheryl finishes her tour and after his football season finishes,' says a source.
'He found the most luxurious place he could and hoped it would encourage her to give it another go.
'At first she was very reluctant, but after a lot of convincing by Ashley she's been talked around. He's seeing it as a second honeymoon – but I'm not sure whether she is!'
Cheryl, 24, and Ashley, 27, will be staying in a private villa in an exclusive resort away from prying eyes.
'Cheryl is playing hard ball and Ashley's doing everything in his power to win her back,' the source tells Reveal.
'He really hopes this works and gets them back on track. If he has his way, they would renew their wedding vows there, too – but I doubt that will be on the cards for Cheryl.'
