Madonna perfectly 'retouched' for magazine cover

Singer’s skin tones and blemishes painted out for Vanity Fair

About to hit her half century, Madonna needed a little bit of retouching to grace the May cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

The singer shows of her supple frame in a series of black and white snaps wearing a basque and thigh-length boots.

Her body looks tiny and her skin blemish-free, with no signs of cellulite or wrinkles - very different to the usual paparazzi snaps that show her with muscly arms.

‘Obviously none of the veins on her arms are there,’ airbrush artist Chris Bickmore tells the Daily Mail. ‘All lines and wrinkles have been removed. The same applies to her face. There are no marks or smile lines, which has made her look years younger.’

In an interview with the US glossy, Madonna admits that she hasn't always cared about her appearance.

‘[At school] I didn't shave my legs,’ she says. ‘I had hair growing under my arms. I refused to wear makeup, or fit the ideal of what a conventionally pretty girl would look like.’

A Vanity Fair spokesman has confirmed the images of Madge have been enhanced with 'just a little work on skin tones and blemishes'.
