Actor in demand to promote safe sex
Tuesday, 1 April 2008
Johnny Depp has been offered a staggering £5 million to be the face of Trojan condoms.
The actor would be expected to appear in a series of ad campaigns for the company’s Magnum range if he agrees.
Bosses are hoping to use the slogan ‘Stand up with Johnny for safer sex’.
‘He’s very interested,’ a source says. ‘He’s trying to figure out if he can fit it in.’
It is thought the star, 44, would boost sales in the US and inspire anti-AIDS charities to send free birth control to third world countries.
‘We’d welcome seeing a major Hollywood star helping to promote the cause,’ a spokeswoman for Calfornia’s Safer Sex Awareness Campaign tells the Daily Star Sunday. ‘And there’s no one bigger than Johnny.'
