Gordon Ramsay's wife Tana: My husband's calmer than me

Mum-of-four reckons explosive chef controls his temper better than her

Life at home with explosive celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is actually pretty tranquil says wife Tana.

'At home Gordon's calmer than me,' she insists. 'My best friend is my husband. Happiness is… when Gordon's back from work and it's just us and the kids and we can shut out the world.'

The family live in Wandsworth, soutwest London. Gordon's often away filming TV shows - including the compulsive Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares - but he's a romantic spouse.

'My most treasured possession is the Mini Cooper that my husband bought for my 30th birthday,' says Tana, 33. 'It's totally impractical because we have four children, but it makes me feel like I'm 18.'

So does cookery writer Tana always rustle up good quality food prepared to Gordon's high standards? Seems not.

'My guilty pleasure is a gin and tonic with a bag of salt and vinegar crisps,' she admits.
