Reality star suffering suspected pre-eclampsia
Wednesday, 26 March 2008
Pregnant Kerry Katona was rushed to hospital yesterday.
The reality star is being tested for suspected pre-eclampsia, which can lead to kidney and liver failure – and in severe cases can be fatal to both mum and baby.
Kerry, 27, is being treated at a maternity unit in Macclesfield, near her Cheshire home. Husband Mark Croft, 37, is by her bedside.
‘We're praying for her but only time will tell,’ her spokesman Max Clifford says. 'In the past few weeks she's been in increasing pain with her legs and feet swollen.
'We just hope it's not pre-eclampsia. Mark's very concerned, like the rest of us. But she is a fighter and we've all got our fingers crossed.’
Kerry is expecting her fourth child, which is due in May. She already has 3 daughters — Molly, 6, and Lily Sue, 5, by ex-husband Brian McFadden, and Heidi, 1, with Mark.
Last week Kerry checked into The Priory for a short stint.
