Actress accused of stealing make-up from US store
Thursday, 20 March 2008
An American magazine is reporting that Winona Ryder has been caught shoplifting for a second time.
The actress is alleged to have left a Hollywood chemist without paying for make-up.
Store workers at the CVC Pharmacy were alerted when a security alarm went off.
‘Winona had a bag of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store,’ a source tells the National Enquirer.
When a security guard stopped her, he found make-up she had not paid for. When asked about the items, Winona is said to have replied: 'I don't know how that happened.'
The store took back the items and decided not to press charges.
Winona, 36, was convicted of stealing £3,000 worth of clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills in 2002.
Her publicist initially denied the claims. But when she was told a store employee had confirmed the incident took place, she said she would check with her again.
