David Beckham had quite a night on the town Wednesday: dining at perennial hot spot Nobu after he paid tribute to a fellow soccer icon at an earlier event.
At Gotham Hall, the British soccer stud, 32, honored Brazilian legend Pelé (born Edson Arantes Do Nascimento), 67, with the achievement award at a gathering sponsored by Major League Soccer (MLS) Works/World Soccer Foundation/Harlem Youth Soccer Street to Fields.
"For me to be here to present this to the greatest sportsmen of all time, I feel particularly honored," said the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder. "This absolutely is a highlight moment for me."
Added Becks, "Soccer is a magical game. I'm very confident fans here in America will continue to see that. There's no reason they can't be as passionate about soccer as they are about every other sport here."
