Actor will take his child on wild hikes
Saturday, 22 March 2008
Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey has given up living in swanky Californian hotels like the Chateau Marmont - he now lives in a mobile home.
'Probably living in a trailer sounds like I'm just a wandering vagabond, but part of it is because I know where my stuff is and how I like it,' he explains.
'I can feel my independence. It's not like a 5-star hotel, but I like it better.'
So will there be room in the actor's life - and home - for his new son or daughter? Matthew's girlfriend, Brazillian model Camila Alves, 25, is expecting a baby in July.
'Hopefully, I'll make a good daddy,' says. 'I'm looking forward to the big baby adventure. My child will spend some nights in the trailer. He's going to have culture and travel. He will be on the beach and taking wild hikes.'
Matthew, 38, is ready to settle down with Camila but isn't planning to make her his bride.'
'I believe in the institution [of marriage],' he tells The Independent, 'but I don't feel you have to marry. A kid just needs a mom and a dad.'
