Actor says the rumours aren't true

George Clooney will not be returning to ER next season.

The actor was rumoured to be making a comeback on the American show for the 15th series.

But George, 46, says he knows nothing about it.

'No one has ever asked me. It's the funniest thing,' he told Entertainment Tonight Canada.

'The story came out, and I was like "Where did that come from?" It was everywhere — I mean in one day!'

But the star says he owes a lot to the show that brought him fame.

'I was 33 when ER hit, so I have a very different outlook on the way things work,' he says. 'I don't think I was supposed to have been famous. I realize how much of this is luck.'
