Paul Potts quits mobile phone job

Britain’s Got Talent star to focus on opera career

Paul Potts has jacked in his old job as a mobile phone salesman – 8 months after winning Britain’s Got Talent.

The singer, 37, wants to focus on his opera career and is currently in the US as part of his world tour.

‘I have finally handed in my resignation at Carphone Warehouse,’ he writes on his website.

‘I was nervous. My wife and I still find it hard to take in. Here we are in the US and yet less than 12 months ago I was selling phones in Port Talbot.’

A film about Paul’s life, to be produced by Simon Cowell, 48, is to be made later this year.
