Britney Spears receives threatening letters

Singer sent bizarre notes and packages in the post

Britney Spears has been receiving threatening letters and packages.

The nature of the mail – which is thought to include a note mentioning a bomb – has sparked worries for her safety.

‘A lot of it was disturbing stalker kind of stuff,’ a source reveals.

‘But to be safe, her security team is turning it all over to the police and FBI.’

No specific investigation is believed to have been launched. But the authorities ‘have been looking at allegations that have cropped up in the past couple of months,’ an LAPD spokeswoman tells E! Online.

An FBI spokesperson has refused to comment.

Meanwhile, rumours that Britney, 26, is pregnant have not been dismissed by the troubled star. She is also said to be back with on-off boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, 35.
