Football star on tour as eldest son turns 9

David Beckham didn't celebrate son Brooklyn's 9th birthday with him yesterday because he's on tour with US soccer club LA Galaxy.

The football star, 32, has been flying between Hawaii, Korea and China and hasn't seen wife Victoria, 33, and the kids for weeks.

Brooklyn had to make do with a phone call from his dad wishing him happy birthday.

'He really wants to get back to his family,' a source tells the Daily Star.

David is due to be reunited with Posh and the boys in LA at the end of the month.
