Top Gear host to be given own chat show
Monday, 3 March 2008
Richard Hammond is being lined up to replace Michael Parkinson as the chat show king.
Veteran TV personality Parky, 72, ended his long-running Saturday night show last year and ITV has struggled to find a replacement.
But now Richard, 33, is being considered to take over, reports the Sunday Express.
Bosses are initially planning to revive his tea-time programme, Richard Hammond’s Five O’Clock Show.
If that proves a success, they will give him the prime-time Saturday evening slot.
Richard is not expected to quit Top Gear.
