Paris Hilton gives away some of her 17 dogs

Socialite tries to abide by LA law

Paris Hilton has given away some of her pet pooches after being investigated by Los Angeles Department of Animal Services.

The socialite had a visit from officials after admitting on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show that she had 17 dogs.

It is illegal in LA for residents who are not professional dog breeders to have more than 3 pups per address.

But Paris, 27, is still way over the limit and has only got rid of 7.

‘Some of my dogs had puppies, so I gave some of them away to people I really know and trust,’ she tells E! Online.

‘I gave some to my stylist and to a few of my best friends, so now I'm down to 10.’

Paris is also rumoured to have 2 monkeys, 2 rabbits, some ferrets and a kinkajou cat-monkey, who live on a ranch in Nevada.
