Nicole Richie offered lead role in Chicago

Socialite swamped with offers since birth of her daughter

Nicole Richie has reportedly been offered the lead role in Chicago.

The new mum will play Roxie Hart in the Broadway production, if she accepts.

‘She's definitely interested,’ a pal reveals.

‘It is in the super early stages of discussions and no decision has been made yet.’

Nicole, 26 - who gave birth to daughter Harlow on 12 January - is talking the practicalities through with partner Joel Madden before making a decision.

‘She is also weighing some other amazing offers but 2008 is going to be really exciting for her,’ the source tells Us Weekly.

‘She just working it all out and keeping Harlow in mind with everything she does, of course!’
