Elton John: I’m too old for fancy dress

Pop singer says he's no longer a fashion victim

Sir Elton John claims he's too old to parade around in outrageous outfits.

The singer, who's well known for his glitzy sense of style and fancy dress parties, arrived at his post-Oscar party on Sunday in a surprisingly understated black suit.

‘I'm 61 next month and I don't dress as flamboyantly as I used to,’ he tells chat show host Larry King.

‘As you get older you change the way you think, the way you dress. I always liked to dress a little differently from other people, but I'm nowhere near the fashion victim I was a long time ago.’

But Elton says he hasn’t lost his adventurous touch completely.

‘I still have a nice silver tie and a sparkly shirt,' he says.
