Actress goes for the mumsy look

Katie Holmes ditched her sleek brown bob yesterday in favour of a head of curls.

The new style made the actress appear mumsy and a little dated - it doesn't suit her nearly as much as her Victoria Beckham-inspired 'do.

The ex-Dawson's Creek star showed off her new look at the First Annual Essence Black Women Luncheon in Hollywood and all eyes were on the star as she posed for pics.

But while Katie, 29, lapped up the attention, husband Tom Cruise, 45, seemed smaller than ever as she towered over him in killer heels.
