Charlize Theron to watch Oscars on TV

Actress plans to stay at home in her pyjamas

Charlize Theron has revealed that she and boyfriend Stuart Townsend won’t be attending the Oscars on Sunday.

Instead of tripping up the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre, they'll watch the proceedings on TV, cuddled up on their sofa.

‘We’re not going, I don’t think you go to those kind of award shows unless you are nominated,’ says the actress.

Charlize, 32, won Best Actress for her role in Monster at the 2004 Academy Awards.

‘I think it’s a special thing if you get a nomination, or your film does. Then you go,’ Charlize tells People. ‘But we don’t have any nominations or anything like that in the house, so we sit in our jammies and watch it on the couch.’

The actress is happy in her relationship with Stuart, 35, but keen to end speculation that he has proposed.

‘I have no plans on getting married,’ she insists.
