Former EastEnders and The Bill actor Todd Carty was rushed to hospital on Saturday after he collapsed on stage.
The 44-year-old – who played Mark Fowler in the BBC soap and evil PC Gabriel Kent in the ITV drama – is thought to have suffered a heart attack at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage.
He was playing a policeman in The Business Of Murder when he keeled over and had to be rushed off stage, where he was violently sick.
‘He suddenly slipped onto a sofa, coughed and then his head fell to one side,’ a shocked onlooker tells the News Of The World.
‘There was no warning. The audience thought it was part of the play as there had been lots of shouting on stage.’
Todd was taken to Lister Hospital, where he stayed overnight.
He has 2 sons James, 9, and Thomas, 5, with his partner Dina Clarkin, 34.
