Britney Spears’ new lawyer has filed a complaint, claiming she is being treated ‘unfairly’.

Since her release 2 weeks ago from the UCLA Medical Centre, Britney's dad Jamie Spears, 55, has been granted temporary control over the singer’s estate. She's spending most of her time at home with her family looking after her.

Jon Eardley, who says he's representing Britney, 26, criticised this situation, arguing she's been made a prisoner in her own home.

'I see this case as a civil rights case,' Jon says. ‘Not allowed to contact her friends. Not allowed to use the phone. Not allowed to come and go as you please. Bodyguards controlling you and so forth.'

Jon doesn't think Britney's erratic behaviour deserves such treatment and is now seeking a court order for a ‘return to normalcy’ for the singer.
