Natasha Kaplinsky plays down huge salary

Newsreader says she’s paid too much

Natasha Kaplinsky has revealed she doesn’t think she’s worth the ‘astonishing amount’ Channel Five are paying her to read the news.

The Strictly Come Dancing star was poached from the BBC with a reported £1m salary.

Although Natasha, 35, won’t confirm the actual pay packet, she reckons it’s far too much.

‘[They’ve] done something ridiculous to my wages,’ she tells Radio Times. ‘Five seem to think I'm [worth it], but how can anybody justify that?

‘A dustman is worth £1m for cleaning up rubbish, and a doctor is worth £20m for saving someone.’
