Kate Garraway: Anton du Beke and I are just friends

GMTV host insists she isn’t having an affair with Strictly Come Dancing dancer

Kate Garraway has spoken out about claims she’s having an affair with Strictly Come Dancing partner Anton Du Beke.

The Sunday Mirror published photos of the pair, which they allege show them in a 'lingering embrace' outside the North Star pub in Islington on Thursday night.

But Kate, 39, insists her marriage to husband Derek Draper is rock solid.

‘Derek and I are as faithful, happy and in love today as we have ever been,’ she says. ‘Anton and I became friends during Strictly Come Dancing. Since then we often work and hang out together.’

Kate and Derek have a 23-month-old daughter called Darcey.

‘It’s not just me and Derek I worry about,’ she tells The Sun. ‘I worry that Darcey will look at the internet when she’s 10 and think, “Did Mummy have an affair?”

‘I want to make sure this is corrected. This is for my child and our future children.’

And Derek, 40, says he get on well with Anton, 41.

‘Kate, Anton and I have been out together to charity events — we all get on very well,’ he says. ‘Anton is a great bloke and I am sorry his and Kate’s friendship has been distorted like this.’
