Singer sports bizarre turban

Aretha Franklin has been photographed sporting an unflattering turban for a glitzy night out.

The singer was honoured as the 2008 MusiCares Person Of The Year evening in LA over the weekend.

But the red carpet snappers couldn’t help but focus on the bizarre outfit Aretha was wearing.

She teamed her unusual head-dress with a black mermaid-style dress that threatened to snap tiny spaghetti straps.

Aretha, 65, later admitted that it was a tight squeeze fitting into the frock.

‘This gown is so tight. It took me about 20 minutes to get in the car,’ she confessed. ‘I'm not kidding. I tried to get in the car 40 different ways.’
