Actor gets into a scuffle outside Boulevard 3

Jesse Metcalfe had to be restrained last night after getting into a scuffle at a Hollywood nightclub.

The actor was partying at Boulevard 3 when he started chatting to girl pal Taryn Manning.

But his friendly banter was misinterpreted by the actress's male companion who suddenly got Jesse by the neck and punched him to the floor.

Jesse jumped straight up to confront his assailant but was held back by security guards. The guys were quickly separated and both escorted away.

Jesse, 29, split from Girls Aloud beauty Nadine Coyle, 22, last month.
