Corrie’s Jane Danson in mourning after her father dies

Actress to take time off filming to grieve

Coronation Street’s Jane Danson is taking time off work to recover from the death of her father.

Builder dad Jack had battled a serious illness and passed away on Sunday surrounded by family.

The actress, 29 - who plays Leanne Battersby – was due to film scenes yesterday, but called in to tell bosses she wasn’t up for it.

‘Our hearts are with Jane and her family over this,’ a show spokesperson tells the Daily Mirror.

Jane has been juggling her role with visiting Jack, who was being treated at Fairfield Hospital, in Bury, Lancs, for months.
