Kelly Brook: Getting to know my dad before he died was beautiful

Model still feels like she's in 'transition' as she mourns

Kelly Brook has revealed she put her life on hold when she learned her late father Ken Parsons had cancer.

The model, 28, says all she wanted to do was help him battle the disease.

'From the February when he was diagnosed my life turned upside down,' she says. 'Everything else went on hold and I spent the whole year with him.

'He drove me all around the little country villages. I feel I really got to know him. It was beautiful. I feel so grateful.'

Unfortunately, Ken passed away in November aged 57 – and Kelly pulled out of Strictly Come Dancing to mourn.

Despite appearing on a Christmas special of the BBC show, Kelly confesses that she still feels bereft.

'I feel like I'm in a bit of a transition now,' she tells InStyle.

After delaying her wedding to fiancé Billy Zane, Kelly now hopes to become his bride this year. The ceremony will be poignant as her dad won't be there to give her away.

'I'm torn between having something really quiet and small in England or something in Greece,' she says.
