John Loughton has become the inaugural winner of Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack.
The 20-year-old politician from Edinburgh received 54 per cent of the public vote to scoop the £50k prize.
‘I'm giving a lot to my mum,’ he tells the Daily Record. ‘We never had a lot of money or disposable income when I was younger.
'We were always trying to get food and money together. It never crossed my mind I'd win - I thought there had been a mistake.’
Circus performer Emilia Arata, 18, came a close second with 46.1 per cent of the vote.
Earlier in the night, artist Amy Jackson, 21, was evicted in third place.
Boxer Anthony Ogogo, 19, was fourth, while racing driver Jeremy Metcalfe, 19, and musician Nathan Fagan-Gayle, 21, finished in fifth and sixth place.
