Daniel Day-Lewis and Cate Blanchett have both paid tribute to Heath Ledger.
Daniel, 51, won the award for Outstanding Male Actor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday and dedicated his trophy to Heath, calling him 'an inspiration'.
'In Brokeback Mountain he was unique,' he announced. 'He was perfect. And that scene in the trailer at the end of the film is as moving as anything I have ever seen.
'I just thought he was beautiful.'
Cate Blanchett, 38, starred alongside Heath in I’m Not There - though they didn't shoot any scenes together - and spoke about his special qualities after receiving the Modern Master Award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
‘I didn't have the great fortune of working with him but the last image I have, just this strong image, would be him dancing the first day he arrived on set,’ she told People.com.
'[He] was just so joyful and I just admire the way he kept evolving as an actor. I think it's a tragic, tragic loss and everyone is reeling.’
