Heath Ledger may have died from natural causes

Levels of toxicity in body were too low to cause death

Monday, 28 January 2008

It looks likely Heath Ledger died from natural causes – not a drug overdose as first suspected.

The actor was found dead in his home last Tuesday and initial reports suggested he could have accidently taken too many sleeping pills.

But now TMZ sources claim the levels of toxicity in his body (from medication) weren't high enough to have caused his sudden death.

Instead, it is thought he could have suffered a heart attack.

The 28-year-old was said to have been heard snoring by his housekeeper at 1pm but a member of the emergency services called to the scene claims there was rigor mortis in Heath’s jaw – suggesting he had died earlier.

Masseuse Diana Wolozin called for help after arriving for a 2.45pm appointment and finding the star face down on the bed.

Meanwhile, police have slammed recent reports that an attempt was made to remove illegal drugs from Heath’s home before officers arrived at the scene.
